“Contemplative” is the best word to describe “Murmuration,” the new single from Jack Cooper’s project Modern Nature, taken from their forthcoming album No Fixed Point In Space, due September 29th on Bella Union. The song simply flows nicely for seven minutes, buoyed by the occasional woodwind and string drone, without sounding anything less than easy on the ears. The video for the song shows birds flying over an aquatic setting at dusk, and really, that about sums up the vibe here. Modern Nature makes beautiful music, and they’re not doing anything less than their best with this. Here’s to that new album and more beautiful melodies.
