3AM Eternal: Jane’s Addiction-“Summertime Rolls” (1988)


Love ’em or hate ’em, Jane’s Addiction were influential–to some (myself included), they were a breath of fresh air in a sea of a crappy macho metal music scene. I posit that Nirvana could not have happened had it not been for the success of Jane’s Addiction and of “alternative music.” Argue that point as you will, I stand by it.

Anyway, this lackadaisical number comes from their breakthrough album, Nothing’s Shocking, and still sounds good to these ears…
