3AM Eternal: Bon Jovi “Misunderstood” (2002)

I’ve always liked this Bon Jovi song. To me, it reminds me a lot of Buffalo Tom. In fact, the first time I heard it, I thought it was Bill Janovitz. He didn’t like it very much when I told him that, but that’s another story for another time.

Still, this is the first post of the new year for a reason. This month, and this year, we’re introducing various themes for The Recoup. January’s topic is going to be “The Misunderstood.” We’ll be talking about bands and artists and creations that are, you guessed it, misunderstood.

In addition to our regular features, reviews, and interviews, we’ll be talking about things that are better than you might realize, or things that you might have let slip because of a negative review, or because of various other reasons. Bands that changed up their style. ¬†Bands that suddenly became slicker sounding. Movies that were superb, even though conventional wisdom said otherwise.

We’ve got other things planned for this next year, so I hope you join us in this adventure!
