3AM Eternal: Lou Reed: Metal Machine Music (1975)

I bet Lou Reed thought it was funny that the record that derailed his rock and roll career in 1975 would become a revered composition by the time he died.

Then again, the man was always provocative, releasing stunningly bizarre records–Lulu, anyone?–and lest we forget, the final solo album released in his lifetime was a collection of instrumental meditative works…and it hearkens back nicely to that album everyone hated.
