Black Love

3AM Eternal: The Afghan Whigs “Black Love” (1996)

Okay, I don’t usually stream albums here, but this time, I’ll make an exception. For the month of February, our theme is “Black/Love.” This serves a dual purpose. One, February is Black History Month, and as February is also Valentine’s, I figured it would be fun to combine the two. So you’ll be getting a dose of some GREAT artists from Black** culture, as well as some great love songs as well!

**note. i do NOT (and will NEVER) use the phrase “African-American” in description of this month. Why? Because the term is way, wayyy too limiting. Black culture is wonderful, but it’s not the exclusive property of one nationality. I mean, how could I write about Black Culture and not talk about people like Lee Scratch Perry or Neneh Cherry (hubba hubba) or Don Letts or Blo or anything that’s not from the 50 contiguous states? Let’s celebrate it ALL, baby. it’s too beautiful not to.
