Twilight Music: The Orb, “Battersea Bunches” (2011)

In 2010, ambient masters The Orb were asked to score a film of three children on holiday that their aunt had recorded in 1956. The resulting seventeen minute track, released the following year,  is one of The Orb’s best latter-day pieces, in part because it captures the innocence of youth and the excitement of travel, all the while painting a vivid portrait of times long gone. It’s genius, it’s brilliant, it’s The Orb.
