We’ve been big fans of Nottingham’s Amusement Parks On Fire almost since day one; it was hard not to fall in love with their dark, noisy sound that blended elements of 1990s British dream pop and shoegaze with heavier modern anthemic rock elements of bands like Silversun Pickups. Road Eyes, their third album, should’ve been a breakthrough hit, yet it instead seemingly served as their epitaph. But they came back last year, and came back strong. Their newest EP, entitled All The New Ends, came out a few weeks ago, and boy, is it impressive. I especially fell in love with the final track, the twelve minute jam “Infernal Flame,” which offers three minutes of dreamy singing, followed by ten minutes of extended instrumental rocking out. It’s a perfect song to launch a hot summer’s weekend, so please do enjoy the next dozen minutes of pure rock bliss.
