When bluesman Leo Bud Welch died in 2017, he was 85 years old, and the tragedy was not of him passing away at an advanced age, but because he was only three years into a recording career. But better late than never, and his final recording sessions (which were produced by the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and released via his label Easy Eye Sound) are soon to be released as his fourth album, The Angels In Heaven Done Signed My Name. Here, he takes on Brother Joe May‘s signature tune, “Don’t Let The Devil Ride,” the wisdom of Welch’s years transforming the song into one all his own.
