We were quite stoked to learn that British ambient/electronica masters Seefeel has awakened from its natural decade-long hibernation, and is currently both working on new material and touring the United States as well. They’ve preceded their tour with a digital single that takes live versions of classic Seefeel tracks and remixes them. My favorite is their rethink of “Spangle,” entitled “Sp19,” which is nearly twelve minutes of pure bliss, with haunting vocals from Sarah Peacock floating in. It reminds me a lot of Mark Van Hoen’s remixing work on the Cocteau Twins’ Otherness EP. Go see them if you get a chance, you might not get that opportunity again…
