Granddaddy‘s masterpiece The Sophtware Slump turns 20 this year. To celebrate this anniversary, Dangerbird Records will be releasing a deluxe 4-LP set. This collection consists of the material on the previously released 2-CD deluxe edition version from 2011, while including the rest of the EPs Signal To Snow Ratio and Through A Frosty Plate Glass, with one extra surprise: a revision of the album as performed on a wooden piano. To be sure, it’s an odd gambit–yet on second thought it’s a perfectly Jason Lytle thing to do. Furthermore, with the first taste of the album a drop-dead reimagining of “Jed’s Other Poem (Beautiful Ground),” we’re convinced of the brilliance of this move.
