Ed Riman–AKA Hilang Child--impressed the world with his debut album Years. After a way-too-long break, he returns with Every Mover. He lost no ground, though; his style of dream pop has matured nicely. The dream parts sound dreamier, yet the pop moments prove even poppier. Case in point, the fantastic “Play ‘Til Morning,” an anthemic number just waiting for its live audience. With the psychedelic edge of Animal Collective mixing nicely with the audience singalong style of James, good luck trying to avoid its catchy charm. Throw childlike innocence into the mix, and the song just radiates. Hopefully the song and album earns Hilang Child the audience he so rightly deserves.
