With an album title like Toothless Messiah, one can imagine Texas singer/songwriter Curtis McMurtry plans to make a political statement. And with  times we live in, why not? These days deserve scrutiny by the artisans of the world. Considering the stock that young Curtis hails from, his songwriting style is vivid and compelling. Thankfully, “Praise Caesar” only confirms our suspicions. A woozy, slightly punch-drunk accompanies the tale of a man willing to do anything for his political leader and the cause he supports. “Praise Caesar” offers masterful storytelling from a young voice worthy of following.
