The Recoup Around the Net

Hello there, dear readers! Just wanted to give you a heads-up about some of my Recoup-minded reviews from around the web this week!

First up, for the esteemed Big Takeover I have reviewed Home and Away, a reissue of Del Shanon‘s lost baroque pop masterpiece from 1967. It’s a great reissue, and it’s worth it just to hear this song:

If you think you know the original version, you haven’t heard anything like this version, trust me!

Additionally,  this week at Dagger I have a review of a singles collection by Gary Lewis and the Playboys. Truth be told, this isn’t a positive review; it’s rare for me to give a record a negative review, but this collection of songs is really, really inconsistent–and the artists even spend a bit of time trashing the songs on it in the liner notes! I contribute reviews for them every week, both contemporary and reissue. Don’t be surprised to see reviews at either place, and then see an interview or something here, either!

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to donate to our Indiegogo campaign. The box at the right will take you there. I’ve got some great incentives, so check it out! If you have paid for a podcast subscription and have not received your first one yet, please let me know!

As for me, I’m getting over the flu, and am about to be snowed in this week, so I’ll be playing catch-up over the next few days. Got some great stuff coming, so stay tuned!

Joseph
