I’m a sucker for early 1990s European techno-pop. Before the boy-band phenomenon came along, the sounds coming from Germany and Sweden were dark, moody numbers that blended the coldness of techno and the warmth and power of R&B. No one was finer at it than Captain Hollywood Project. Their debut album, Love Is Not Sex, was a classic of the genre, fronted by distinctive vocalist Tony Dawson-Harrison. “Impossible” was a modest hit in the US, and a larger hit worldwide. It’s a dark little number, one that will get you feeling happy when you’re down and will make you feel down when you’re up.
Or something like that….
PS: Surprise! Bonus song!
