Twilight Music: Gavin Bryars, “The Sinking Of The Titanic” (1975)

The debut work of composer Gavin Bryars was an impressive twenty-five minute symphony dedicated to Titanic. It is a solemn piece, as one would expect. It is also one of the most moving classical compositions from the late 20th century, and is recognized as such.
