Over the weekend, we were saddened to learn that Ms. Sharon Jones passed away as a result of her long battle with cancer. Though her musical career came late in life, it was as if she had been here since the 1960s. A fine performer, the likes of which we’ll not see again any time soon. “It Hurts To Be Alone,” the b-side of her 2011 single, “He Said I Could,” is the kind of soul ballad that will sends chills down your spine and injects into your soul the feeling that says, ‘Damn I know exactly how that feels.” Rest in power, Ms. Jones.
