Though English experimental folk troupe Tunng are in the midst of a hiatus, French label Microcultures has seen fit to release the band’s 2013 performance on the French radio program Label Pop Sessions. The six song set highlights what makes Tunng such a special group: gentle, earthly folk with a modern electronic-minded pulse. This is no more obvious than on “So Far From Here,” a highlight from their most recent album, 2013’s Turbines. The other five tracks in this performance feature from the band’s vast, storied, and compelling back catalogue.
