Was saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Steve Wright, the co-founder of Power Pop legends The Greg Kihn Band. Though the band officially debuted in 1978, Wright had played with Kihn on his previous solo records, and stayed with Kihn until he retired from music in 1996. Wright was co-writer of many of the band’s songs, including their two biggest hits, 1981’s breakthrough hit “The Breakup Song (They Don’t Write ‘Em)” and 1983’s “Jeopardy.” Wright died of a heart attack on Monday. RIP.
