Daddy’s not gonna lie to you, son; he had a stressful week. So what better way than to seek out solace in some fine, fine ambient music? I’m not particularly familiar with Oakland’s Fluorescent Heights, but they apparently have a number of digital and physical albums floating in the digital space world out there, all waiting to be found by those who seek. I was tipped off to this wonderful track, the title track from their new cassette release, Strange Lagoon Found At Nightfall, out now on Constellation Tatsu records. With a swirling, circular ambience, its hushed tones emulate the kind of heady relaxation vibe found only in the universe’s most exclusive spas.
