Throughout the Seventies, prolific Soul singer Tyrone Davis racked up an impressive discography of charting singles and albums. By 1981, that run was coming to an end, and though that year’s album release, Everything In Place, was to be his final major label recording, it was nothing less than a fine album of ballads and uptempo numbers. Soon to be reissued by Funky Town Grooves, “Let’s Be Closer Together” is a wonderfully lush, romantic slow jam that’s propelled by his deep, powerful voice.
