Song Of The Day: Saxon, “Suzie Hold On”

English metal band Saxon helped define the genre with their 1980 album, Wheels Of Steel. It is a fantastic record, and it sonically set the stage for metal in the next decade. A recent reissue via BMG/Union Square Music allows us the opportunity to evaluate this great record, and one thing that struck us was how much album track “Suzie Hold On” reminded us of The Who. Hearing that leads us to think that metal, for all of its innovation, may well have been more rooted in traditional rock than one might think.
