New York-based baroque pop band The Left Banke seemingly came and went rather quickly, but their small catalog has been largely influential on the generations that follow. It’s not hard to imagine bands such as Belle And Sebastian, The Essex Green, and many more bands growing up listening to such hits as”Walk Away Renée” and “Pretty Ballerina,” which were notable for their very gentle, lush arrangements and gorgeous harmonies. Sadly, we learned that founding member and drummer George Cameron lost his battle with cancer on Sunday afternoon. He was 70.
