We are quite picky when it comes to”Dream pop,” and we will proudly admit to being both finicky and quite judgmental. We’re not easily impressed… but we liked what we likes, and we likes the duo of Kim and Jarod Weldin, the South Carolina duo better known as Tape Waves. Even though we’re just learning of them, they’ve been around a few years, having just released their third album, Distant Heart. Soft and gossamer–like with the occasional noisy guitar with pretty vocals buried in the mix, and it quickly satisfied our high standards check list. I love it all, but I’m partial to a song about the moon that sounds like the moon poking through fog.
