Song Of The Day: The Bangles, “Jet Fighter”

Will 2019 bring a Paisley Underground revolution? God, I hope so. 3 x 4 is a split LP featuring four of the pillars of the scene each offering choice covers of the other three groups, and is an ingenious and enjoyable new record that highlights the talents of The Bangles, The Dream Syndicate, Rain Parade, and The Three O’Clock. In the case of the last two bands, this is the first new material they’ve released in decades, which makes 3 x 4 all the sweeter. You’re really spoiled for choice here, but the official single, The Bangles’ take on The Three O’Clock’s “Jet Fighter,” is a superb crunchy garage rocker that will remind you of the band’s roots before they became an MTV pop sensation. This is a great introduction to the legendary Paisley scene, and just an  all-around good time.
