It’s been a while since the fantastic funk-punk-soul explosion known as 24-7 Spyz blessed the world with a brand-new album, but that’s exactly what they’ve done, quietly releasing The Soundtrack To The Innermost Galaxy in January. Masterminds Jimi Hazel and Rick Skatore have lost absolutely none of their touch, and the wonderful “Brothers And Sisters” is a call for unity during divisive times, reminding the listener that ultimately we are all brothers and sisters and we should treat each other with love and respect. Fantastic singing, too. Of course, if you’ve known the band all these years, the none of this is surprising; if you’re not familiar, this is a hell of a great place to start.
