How long we’ve waited for a proper new album from Atlanta rockers Drivin N Cryin. It’s been a decade since they released The Great American Bubble Factory, but in that time they’ve not been inactive; if anything, their legend has only grown. A handful of EPs, a critically acclaimed documentary, lots of touring, and reissues of their best work has kept frontman Kevn Kinney quite busy, when he could easily coast on the legacy. That’s why “Ian McLagan,” the second single from their forthcoming Live The Love Beautiful, is so appropriate. It’s a tribute to the legendary Ian McLagan, a musical lifer who is definitely an influence on Kinney’s work. The song is a beautiful Southern rocker that tells the story of his fandom and of a chance meeting in Austin. More than that, it’s a love song to the hard-working legends who continue to carry on even when they could easily hang it up and live off of their legacy. You know…just like Drivin N Cryin.
