Song Of The Day: Chuck Mead, “Tap Into Your Misery”

Chuck Mead, frontman for country swing band BR549, has made a lengthy and rewarding career of plowing the fertile fields of mid-20th Century music and reinterpreting those sounds into a sound that amazingly splits the difference between sounding traditional and contemporary. His newest solo album, Close To Home, is a fine reminder that Mead is a master songwriter. “Tap Into Your Misery” is a particular highlight, a honkey-tonk number dedicated to drinking away your woes.
