Canadian-American rock group Blood, Sweat & Tears offer up a raucous take on Laura Nyro‘s fantastic reflection on the nature of life and death “And When I Die.” Though the subject is a tad morbid, considering the nature of the festival being something of a celebration of life, it wasn’t a downer; if anything, it offered a carpe diem take on living in the here and now. That it was performed with a loose, weird amalgam of jazz, rock, and second line music only adds to the jubilation.
