Song Of The Day: Neal Casal, “Tomorrow’s Sky”

We were saddened and shocked to learn of the death of super-talented singer/songwriter and highly regarded session man Neal Casal. Though he’s probably best known for being an integral member of Ryan Adams‘ band The Cardinals, he had his own prolific solo career, as well as working with talents ranging from Cass McCombs and James Iha to Tift Merritt and Willie Nelson. “Tomorrow’s Sky,” taken from his 2009 album Roots & Wings, offers up everything wonderful about Casal’s music: fantastic guitar playing, thoughtful and introspective lyrics delivered with his sweet and sensitive voice. A talent gone too soon, reportedly by his own hand after suffering from a long battle with depression.
