Pam Tillis is country music royalty. Though she is the daughter of legendary singer Mel Tillis, Ms. Tillis made her own way. But it’s been a while since she last released a solo album proper, and her new album Looking For A Feeling is a welcome return for the talented singer/songwriter. “Dolly 1969” offers up a delightful rumination on one of the true goddesses of country, Dolly Parton. In the track, Tillis is ruminating on a picture of a young Dolly, imagining the legend’s own salad days struggles. Tillis even fantasizes about being her partner-in-crime, the Thelma to her Louise. Of course, it’s all good fun, and quite a delightful number taken from an album full of superb country music.
