3AM Eternal: The Jasmine Minks “I Heard ‘I Wish It Would Rain'” (2002)

This soulful indie-pop number from veteran British popsters The Jasmine Minks is a lovely duet between frontman Jim Shepherd and the always lovely Pam Berry. The song appeared in 2002 on the tiny Bus Stop label, but it stems from The Jasmine Minks’ lost, unreleased album, Veritas, that was to have been released in 2000, but only made it out in super-limited demo form.

Shame, too, because this track is a beautiful ballad. The other two songs on the EP are also quite lovely, and here’s hoping that album will be revisited properly in the future.
