3AM Eternal: The Alarm “Rain In The Summertime” (1987)

Welsh rockers The Alarm were an established band in Europe, but they didn’t really break through in America until 1987, when they released this amazing stadium rock-friendly anthem. Not surprising, too, that this song would be a hit, considering the success of U2. “Rain In The Summertime” has that same Joshua Tree vibe, and is all the better for it; thankfully, frontman Mike Peters never grew a Bono-sized ego.
