3AM Eternal: Deerhunter “Snakeskin” (2015)

Once again we’re invoking our right to post something contemporary under the guise of our free-form summertime topic, and this one’s a left-field surprise. The latest single by Deerhunter is a crispy, weird track with an intoxicating rhythm (listen for the rattlesnake rattle percussion!), and a video that would make Brothers Quay proud.

Oh, and we can’t help but notice that the song sounds more than a bit like this song from 1976….
