Apple Records signed The Modern Jazz Quartet in an attempt to give the fledgling endeavor some prestige. While their tenure only lasted for two albums–1968’s Under The Jasmine Tree and 1969’s Space, their two offerings were, in fact, classy records, even if at the time the association with The Beatles struck many as bizarre. “Three Little Feelings” was the highlight of their Apple debut, and their two albums, while low-key releases, were certainly among the label’s best offerings.
