Song Of The Day: Danielson, “Snap Outtavit”

It’s been a long, long time since last we heard from the fantastic New Jersey collective Danielson––seven long years, as a matter of fact. But they are back now, with a new EP forthcoming, and from the sound of the title track, it doesn’t seem as if they’ve lost step. “Snap Outtavit” is a true famile affair once again, featuring brothers and sisters and nephews and nieces and friends. The song itself is very dreamy, almost a dream pop confection with Daniel Smith‘s vocals being obscured by a gorgeous trance like chanting of the song title that morphs into some of the most blissful melodies ever offered on a Danielson record. Even though the sound doesn’t reveal much, it Is nothing if not a very tantalizing taste of a most welcome comeback.
