We were pleasantly surprised to hear the new single from California indie pop band John Girgus & The Legendary House Cats. Girgus, formerly of Sarah Records’ Aberdeen, returns with this first taste of an as of yet announced new full length album, and this taste has definitely whetted our appetite. “Act Two” is a mellow, hazy psychedelic rocker, reminiscent of mid-1990s Jesus And Mary Chain as well as The Brian Jonestown Massacre. The digital single comes complete with an acoustic take that only doubles down on such comparisons, and is even nicer than the original.
