Song Of The Day: Carl Broemel & Eric Hopper, “Junk”

My Morning Jacket‘s guitarist Carl Broemel has always had a productive solo career outside the spotlight of his main gig, and his latest release, a seven-song EP entitled Brokenhearted Jubilee is an excellent little offering. It’s a cover record; the title referencing Paul McCartney‘s 1970 solo classic “Junk,” which kicks off the record.  With a little help from friend and collaborator Eric Hopper, Broemel gives the world a rather faithful and undeniably lovely take on the understated song.
