Dylan Carson’s Earth has always specialized in a very unique, homegrown amalgam of drone, metal, drone metal, and heavy as hell ambient rock. It’s a testament to the quality of his vision that not only have the times caught up with him and made him a founding father of this particular brand of noise rock, but also that he can release a new record and it still sounds as stunning and fresh and original as any of the ones that preceded it. Their latest, Full Upon Her Burning Lips, offers up ten songs that split the difference between disturbing and beautiful, with “Descending Belladonna” being a definite stand-out.
