Wow, talk about a delight from out of this world! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, esteemed indie-pop label Where It’s At Is Where You Are has released a scrumptious double-disc tribute compilation entitled The Moon And Back: One Small Step For Global Pop, featuring 36 fantastic numbers from newcomers to the indie-pop scene, as well as old familiar faces. One of the most delightful numbers is “Blues For Planet X,” a brand new number from the long-dormant New York pop band My Favorite. Over a jazzy rhythm, vocalist Jaime Babic sings of worlds unknown–with a nod here and there to David Bowie. Have no idea if this is a one-off or not, but let’s not worry about that now, and simply enjoy the moment, shall we?
