Song Of The Day: Buffalo Tom, “Summer”

It’s the first day of Autumn, and I always love to listen to this song right about now, because the transition of seasons as metaphor for growing older has rarely been better written. Bill Janovitz has a keen eye for making a turn of phrase become so much more potent and emotionally powerful. “Fall begins/When the leaves burn/Summer ends” is one of the greatest lines in rock and roll, period.
