Song Of The Day: One Eleven Heavy, “Stir”

Desire Path is the second trip of James Jackson Toth‘s new psychedelic rock band One Eleven Heavy, and once again it’s a long, strange trip down familiar cosmic boogie pathways. It’s a fantastic fun, funky album full of rootsy, stoned rock and roll that occasionally reminds of everyone from the Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers, and even Mungo Jerry with a hint of Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show. That’s perfectly fine, of course, if you do it well–and brother, they do it well. Just dig out the upbeat rock of “Stir,” a story of riding down the long, lonesome highway in search of adventure. Not bad, fellas…not bad.
