Sam Prekop has long been associated with compelling electronic sound. Whether it be with his long-running band The Sea And Cake or as a solo act, his music’s always sounded cool. Though his most recent solo albums have been challenging listens, Comma finds him diving straight into the future. Okay, so it’s the future world as imagined 40 years ago, but it’s still the future sounds of tomorrow. “Circle Line,” the second single from the album, sounds exactly like the title. It’s a somewhat constant line of circular rhythms repeated ad infinitum that sounds like the highway theme from a really awesome sci-fi flick. Or a really superb new Sam Prekop album.
