Producer Willie Hutch will forever be associated with the classic Blaxploitation soundtrack The Mack, which was one of Motown’s biggest hits of the early 1970s, but he would continue to release fine albums. SoulMusic Records‘ latest twofer offers up his final releases for the esteemed label, 1977’s Havin’ A House Party and 1985’s Making A Game Out Of Love. “I Can Sho’ Give You Love,” from House Party, was a superb, mellow Soul groover, an album cut that should have been a single, and one of his finest performances.
Havin’ a House Party/Making A Game Out Of Love will be released 18 August via SoulMusic Records.
